I do have an addiction--sewing! This is another bag I made with 4 squares across and 3 rows vertically. Once you start making these you can not stop! Last night I made one with one square and 2 squares vertically. It would be cute for a little girl. Now I have made 4 different sizes but my favorite is still 3 across and 3 down. I had one at the Stock Show yesterday and had people check out my bag--of course I had my die, stamp book, business card and other purses stuck inside my bag--how convenient! I set my sewing machine up next to my kitchen and it is amazing how much sewing I get done waiting, waiting for this and that. While waiting to go to town I got so many squares quilted. I know, I know it is always messy looking but wow! what you can get done. Last night I made 4 neck warmers to give the gals when they return from Arizona back to the frigid temps of South Dakota. As I say I am addicted!!! I am off to work on my MDS for club and a class tomorrow. Have a great and blessed Sunday!!!

Assisted Living Cards
I made these 2 cards with the Assisted Living ladies and gentleman on Thursday. They do a great job! When I arrived they were waiting for me and love making the cards. If you do any work with the assisted living and nursing homes you want to make your samples pretty basic and they get along fine. I also wont let them use the word "can't" just like when I taught kindergarten. They are getting so much better and are now helping each other. It is an awesome volunteer project! I hope you have a great evening!

Thank You Card
This card was made with Pretty In Pink card stock, the new DSP (Sending Love Specialty) found in the Occasions Mini catalog, Pink Satin Ribbon, a pink Corduroy Button, and the stamp set With All My Heart and Real Red ink. Yesterday we made a card using this stamp set at the Assisted Living and I forgot my clear blocks but we were still able to use the stamp set. It was a little tricky but we got it to work. I love going to the Assisted Living as they are all so eager to make a card. They were all waiting at the table ready to go when I got there. My table keeps getting bigger and bigger. It usually takes less than a hour to make 2 cards and they are so happy when they leave. The staff always collects the cards and then they send them to their families with them later. A great volunteer project!!!!!!!!!

Smaller Purse
I made this little purse last night in less than 2 hours. (Most of the squares were cut ahead of time but I still ended up getting out my Big Shot and cutting a few more). These are fun, fun to make and very quick. I used 4 squares on the front and back and then put 2 squares on the bottom and 2 on each side for a total of 14 squares. I bought 2/3 yard of each color (3 colors) and will easily get 2 purses and maybe 3 out of the material. I used a plain black material for the handles and made them 26 inches long. I thought this would make a great teenage girl purse. The materials out there are so beautiful but it would be nice to find a sale somewhere. Ouch! I cut my material in 5 1/4 inch strips and I got 8 squares or actually 4 completed squares as you have to double the squares out of a strip. I used 3 strips plus 1/2 of another one so you would have to use 21 inches to make this purse plus material for the handle. This handle was 2 1/2 inches wide and 26 inches long.
We still have fog here (3 days of it). We hope to get out in the morning to AZ but I guess they are having rain there (5 inches expected). So it is not looking good for us! Hopefully, the sun will come out!!! Have a great and exciting day!!!

Western Purses
Beings I didn't blog yesterday thought I would make a couple of posts today. This is the western purse pattern like Angie Juda made. I did change it a little. I added 4 squares across and 3 rows. I also made the handle 3 inches wide and 30 inches long. I have 5 different materials in this as I only wanted the boot pattern on one square on each side so I added another tan material to make the pattern look right. Instead of making a latch I added 8 magnets right in the "V" on each top square. These are so much fun to make! I went material shopping yesterday as you can see and this is just some of the material I got. These 3 pieces I am going to make a much smaller purse with just 2 squares across and 2 squares down for a volunteer project at one of the schools. These colors are so nice and springy!!
Christmas MDS
This is an MDS page that I made last night. I have been taking Heather Summer's online class and Wow! I have learned so much. I never realized how much was in this program until I started watching her class. Some of the embellishments from this page are from the Cocoa one that is a new download. When you go to Kits in Embellishments click Kits and you can't believe how many more embellishments that are to choose from. The paper on the side is from the Cocoa Decorative Trims (something like that) and the bells are from the embellishments. The dec. is from the letters under the Cocoa download. You can go to my Stampin' Up! website and download any of the new ones. Also, if you order $50 of downloads you get a FREE SAB set. Remember, on downloads there is not a shipping cost as they are not shipping anything to you so you just have to pay the tax. I also used the matting which you can make any color and add wider mats if you choose. I also used the opacity button which I used on the bottom 2 photos. For some reason this year I did not have many Christmas pictures so will only have 1 page of memories. You can also send in single pages only (5 pages at a time) instead of making a book. You can just put the pages in a scrapbook. The single pages are 2.95 apiece if you send them to Stampin' Up! to print. I have been sewing purses and buying material. Oh, my gosh this is addictive! I just finished a purse and will show it as soon as it gets out of the dryer. I hope you have a great day!

Card Class
This is a card that I made from one of Sarah's (my downline) class this summer. I am just getting all the cards made from her classes. It is so nice not to have to cut the projects and have them all ready so all you have to do is put them together. Wow! She has so many ideas with her classes. She is offering card clubs and card kits on class now. If you go to Sarah's blog and click under classes you will see what she has to offer. I am off to sewing purses. Yesterday while I was watching my girls barrel race on the Webcast in AZ I cut out blocks and blocks with my Big Shot and Scalloped Square. Today I hope to get some of them put together. Hopefully, I will be able to show you one tomorrow completed on my blog. I also start My Digital Studio Classes tonight. If you would like me to teach a large or small group some tips on MDS just email me. Have a great day!

Decorated Attache Case
Isn't this just the coolest? Cheryl brought this to our downline meeting. I am just the luckiest person to have such creative downline members. She took an attache case and decorated it inside and outside with DSP.
In the back she also has file folders decorated and all kinds of files decorated with the DSP. The office materials are endless. What a cute gift or just to carry around yourself! Note also the ribbons she has used!!! Yes, she is also the same person that made the bag on yesterday's post. Watch for more ideas from my downline on tomorrow's post!

Downline Bag
This is a bag that Cheryl, from my downline, made with the Scalloped Square Die and the Big Shot! Wow! It is so cool! She even lined the inside and put extra support on the bottom! What cute material! She made 16 squares in the front and back!
I am going to list the clubs that my downline are having and if you would like to join any of them just email me or them. I know you will have a great time.
I finally got my Christmas lights down today. It is so nice-almost 50 degrees. I still have a couple of cords frozen in the ground but got the rest done! Have a great day and watch tomorrow for some more great downline projects!!!

Downline Meeting
We had a fantastic downline meeting yesterday! Wow! I have the best of the best downline members. If you would like to join our group NOW is the time as it is Sale-a-bration time and the kit price is great! You can check it out on the Stampin' Up! website or my website or any of my downlines sites (addresses on the sidebar). Also, Shelli (Stampin' Up!) has made a commitment to demonstrate at 24 workshops. It has been divided up in different groups but she will demonstrate at the top demonstrators that have recruited the most people in a time slot in January. Wouldn't it be fantastic to have Shelli at our workshop.!!!!! Shirrise demonstrated the MDS and did a fantastic job! All of the downline are so quick with the computers and added a lot of detail to our meeting. Everyone went away commenting on the tidbits that they had learned. The MDS was projected on the wall and we were all able to use our laptops and work along with Shirrise. Be watching for dates that I have set aside for helping you with your MDS. I will have classes in January and February that you can attend. I will also be showing you many pictures that I took of the downline's projects! What a fantastic group I have. This thank you was one that Shirrise sent me last night for a thank you for the day! Her email will pop it right up without sending an attachment. I am still working on mine and we cant find a solution to it yet. We had a bowl of chili and then the UPS dropped off my order so we could all see many of the new products in the SAB and the Occasions Mini catalog! It was a great day!!!!

Snowman Magnet
This is a Snowman Magnet that I CASED from Dawn's blog. I used Real Red, Brushed Gold, Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White card stock. The punches used were the Scalloped Punch, Word Window Punch, Ticket Punch, 1 1/4 Square Punch, Ornament Punch, and the 3 Heart Punch. I added the smile mark with the Black Marker and also added some glitter and some white marks with the White Gel Pen. I added a strip of magnet on the back. I would also laminate this card before I put the magnet strip on the back.

Valentine's Card
I am not starting out the new year very good with my blogging. Yesterday my phone service and internet was off so hopefully today I can get a project posted before I am off again! We made this card at my clubs this month. We used the new lace heart punch with Whisper White card stock and a strip of black card stock. We also used the new Perfect Polka Dots Impresssions Folder (you have to have one of these) and the Heart Punch. Some of the ladies put a white button in the middle which looked really nice also-I used a Build a Brad with the 1/2 inch punch and some Black card stock. I also used the Impressions Folder for the Bermuda Blue card stock and then cut them out with the Large Heart Punch also. The image is from the new SAB catalog "Whimsical Words" if you buy $50.00 of merchandise this month and through March! What fun!!! I am off to see "Annie" with my daughter and her friend and daughter! I heard it was really good!!!! Have a great evening!
Tuesday, January 5, 2010
These are 3 of the cards that we made in one of our clubs. Each month I send home with each member a packet (card stock, ribbon, embellishments, and DSP) and then they come back next month with a card they have made.
It has been so much fun to see the different cards that are made with the same materials. Now we are each adding our own embellishments so it makes it even more interesting. Have a great evening! It is snowing out again here and suppose to get really cold. So glad we got all of our clubs done for the month!!!
