Card Kit Card

Good morning everyone! It looks like we are off to a very warm day! We are leaving for Convention today so not quite sure what will happen with the posts this week. If possible I will try and keep you informed of the latest happenings in the Stampin' Up! world. This is SU's 20th Anniversary so should be an exciting convention. I am finally packed and ready to go-I don't know why I always wait until the last minute! We went to the Hills again yesterday and took our camera this time to get some great pictures. Last night we spent the evening in the arenas tying goats and running poles. Of course, it is dark before we get in for a meal! Today the card is from the new Card Kit. This card kit has the most beautiful paper and accessories. It comes with textured card stock, ribbon, brads, and adhesives. A quick way to make a card! Enjoy your day and keep in touch this week!

Deer Friends

Another Christmas Card! Wow! I wish we could have had just a little of the cooler weather today--it was hot! We were up scrapping boards and I got very warm. Then it really cooled off tonight when we were at the barrel racing-very windy! I made this card with Pacific Point and Whisper White card stock and some white Grosgrain ribbon. You could easily use the pocket of this card for a picture or a gift card. I used the new Level II stamp set--Deer Friends and the image is Heard from the Heart (another new stamp set coming out in August). I also used the 1 1/4 circle, 1 3/8 circle and scallop punches. Have a great day!

Saturday, July 26, 2008

This card is from the new set "Wow Flowers" and using the Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango card stock. I also used the 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 inch circles. I do not have any ribbon that matches so just a few more days to see what is in store.

Dream du Jour

Love this new DSP from Stampin' Up! (Still need some ribbon to match) I played yesterday in my stamp room as it was kind of a rainy afternoon. I can't wait for Convention and the new Catalog as it is so hard to make cards without all of the embellishments to match! This card used the new Riding Hood Red card stock and the Rose Bella DSP along with 2 jumbo eyelets. Isn't this paper just gorgeous!!! The new stamp set is Dreams du Jour with 4 images. This was a fun card to design but I still need that ribbon.

Christmas Card #1

I finally made the challenge! I got my first Christmas card done for the Blog-even though it does show a lot of glitter! The colors did not come out to the true colors and I used Glorious Green and Real Red card stock and Real Red Prints from the Print Pack. I stamped the All in the Family Kids with Staz On and then used the Wonder Colors and Aqua Painter. I also added the red striped ribbon for a little embellishment. The snowman and the "Very Merry Christmas" are from the New Level III Window Dressing stamp set. These little kids are so much fun to stamp as it reminds me when we were little kids and use to play with paper dolls and cut people out of the magazines and dress them with different clothes. I also made a scrapbook page with these little people. Wow! You can use them for all of the holidays and more! I have seen so many cute Shadow Boxes with members of the family and the family name. These would also make cute tags for the first day of school! Enjoy your day and have a great weekend!

Penny Spin Card

This is a Penny Spin card that we made in club this month. I used Soft Sky cs and Afternoon Tea DSP. Then I used the Window Punch and punched a hole vertically. I stamped the flower from Embrace Life in White Craft ink onto Soft Sky cs. I embossed it and cut it out. To make the spinner you put a dimensional in the middle of a penny. Add another penny on top of the dimensional and then use a large glue dot on top of the second penny and add your flower. Wedge the penny between the opening. It will spin as it goes up and down the opening. I stamped Wonderful friend from Wonderful Favorites stamp set with Soft Sky ink and added the Soft Sky Ribbon. Enjoy and have a great day!

Anniversary Pocket Card

This is a card made from Purely Pomogranate which is one of the IN COLORS from the catty in Spring of 2008. The IN COLORS will be discontinued as of August 11th. This card also uses the stitched ribbon and the Build A Brads. The Build A Brads are so easy to use and make a cute embellishment on your cards. I used the flower from True Friend and the Boho Backgrounds. The Happy Anniversary is from the stamp set Hugs & Wishes. You could also add a gift card or picture in the pocket.
The accessory discontinued list begins on Monday, July 21st. Be sure and get your orders in right away if you would like any of the items. I will be posting them on Monday morning.
We had such a nice rain this morning (.75") and it came just in time as I just started watering my lawn last night as it was turning a little brown.
Have a great day and weekend!

Pink Hardware Card

Beings I forgot to post yesterday (no excuses just had company in the morning and then more company late into the evening) I will post twice today. Love the Hodgepodge Kits! They are so simple to use. All of the Hodgepodge Kits will be discontinued with this catalog. You can still order until August 10th. The DSP will also be discontinued! I would assume that any paper with the IN COLORS from 2007-08 will be discontinued. Oh, but they are coming out with some new beautiful papers! Just wish all of the colors could stay. This card is made with Pretty in Pink CS and Taffeta Ribbon with Berry Bliss DSP and the Silver Hodgepodge Kit. Have a great day before it gets too warm.

Kristina's Cute Card

Wow! This is such a cute card I got from Kristina yesterday using the Pun Fun Stamp Set. Don't you just love that little bird. The white gel pen and black doodle marks add so much to the image. Love that DSP that is now retired. Note how she used DSP for the Bird also. How bright and cute! Thanks so much Kristina!!!

This is a Level III set that demonstrators were able to purchase on the Sneak Peek. Wow! This will go so well with the little kids and the accessory stamps. This can even be used for the holidays! Have a great day-it is nice and cool out. Yes, Donna, I just got in from mowing a couple of hours with the hand mower. I can't believe how the weeds are growing. Now off to wash the baler down.

New Scallop Punch

This is the new Scallop Punch. How fun is it!!! You know how frustating it was with the Corner Punch and trying to get the scallops even. This works like a whiz!

You can make a scallop as long as your card stock. Just put the card stock in as far as you can and punch. Line it back up to the next scallop and punch again! I know you will enjoy this punch. Have a great day!

Sock Monkey

OK, OK, I just had to show this new cute stamp set that will be coming out in the Fall Stampin' Up! catalog! It is so much fun! How many of you can remember the good ol' Sock Monkey! They have so many cute accessory stamps so you can use this for birthdays, holidays, or any occasion!

Here I stamped the Sock Monkey on Whisper White and used Pacific Point for my main base and then added some Tangerine Tango cs. I used the Wonder Colors to color my monkey and then used a Blender Pen. How fun!!!!

New Designer Series Paper (DSP)

This is one of the new DSP (Bella Rose)! Of course, plaids are in again but the floral paper is so beautiful! Some of the lighter prints you can not see that well but they are gorgeous! There are again 12 sheets with 2 sheets of each design. This set would be beautiful with the Stationary Portfolio and the Birthday Books we made in those classes this spring!

Tutorial on "Z" Card

This is my very first tutorial so you will have to bare with me. Thank you Julie for the visit as that is what convinced me to try this.
1. Cut a piece of Rose Red card stock in half (5 1/2 x 8 1/2). Score on the 4 1/4 inch line. You can also cut your cs 4 1/4 x 11 and score on the 5 1/2 inch line.
2. Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 4 x 10 1/4 inches. Score on the 2 1/2 inch and 5 inch lines.
3. Adhesive the top of the white card stock to the front of the Rose Red card.

4. Cut DSP (I used Cutie Pie) 3 3/4 x 5 (1), and 2 1/4 x 3 3/4 (2 of them). Adhesive these pieces to the Whisper White cs. They will fit in the middle and you will have a border of white.

5. Fold your pieces of white cs like a "Z".
6. Cut a piece of Rose Red cs 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches depending on your image. Adhesive this cs to your bottom front DSP about halfway up. 7. Stamp an image on your 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 piece of cs and adhesive this to the Rose Red square.
You are done!!! This is what the card looks like from the side. They are so fun and easy to make! Wow! Look what you can do with your scraps of DSP! Have fun!!!

Another Z Card

Here is another "Z" card! I just love these cards-they are so much fun to make. I used Certainly Celery for the base (I cut a piece of CS in half) so it would stand differently than yesterdays. This way seems to stand better. I used the Flowers for You DSP and added 5/8" Grosgrain Rose ribbon (faux tie).
It is raining again! It is hard to believe that we have waited for 8 years for it to rain and now we seem to get rain about every day. It sure slows the haying season down but it is so nice to get moisture again and see everything green in July. My plans were to mow and cut weeds today but I see that won't happen until at least later.

Bronc Buster Card

What an imagination! Wow! You can get so creative with this "Z" card. This could also be a great male card which is so hard for me to make. I used the Bronc Buster image with Real Rust Ink and Real Rust & Naturals Ivory CS. I also added some Jumbo Brads and a little twine for embellishments. It may look better to use smaller brads but it is ok. I also used the discontinued western DSP. Enjoy!!!

Z Card

Here are some picture of a "Z' card. I got the directions from Dawn's blog. They are so much fun to make! You can add all kinds of different DSP and different images. This would also make a neat wedding card. This is the card standing up. You can cut the base of the card in half (4 1/4 x 11) as I did here or you could have it stand the other way and cut the base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2) standardsized cards.

I also laid it out flat so you can see what it actually looks like in one piece laying down.
This is the card lying down ready to pop out. I cut the Tempting Turquoise 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2. The Whisper White CS is 4 x 10 1/4 scored at 2 1/2 and 5. I made 3 cuts on the Flowers For You DSP--(2) 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 and (1) 3 3/4 x 5. I adhesived these DSP onto the Whisper White CS and then added some Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon on the top portion on the card. The Happy Birthday cake from Celebration was stamped in Tempting Turquoise on a piece of 2 1/2 inch square of Whisper White CS. I adhesived that onto a piece of 2 3/4 inch square Tempting Turquoise CS. I stamped happy birthday on a scrap of WW CS with TT ink. Also, had to add a little glitter to the candles. I also sponged around the cake. A Happy Birthday Card!!!! Have a great day!!

Sincere Sympathy

Our sincere sympathy is extended to Shirrise and her family who just lost their mother in a long 8 year battle of cancer. She was such a lovely lady and raised such a wonderful family. Shirrise is in my downline and has been a stamper as long or longer than I have. She has traveled to many Stampin' Up! Conventions with me! Our prayers are with their family at this time!!

Quick Bag

Here is a bag I saw on Dawn's video and I just altered it a little. Wow! Are these fun to make!!! My white sack is 5 1/4 x 7 inches. You can make these gift bags any size you would like just make your DSP accordingly. I used Jersey Shore DSP and put a piece of 5 1/4 x 7 inches on the front of the bag. On the back of the bag I made my paper 5 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches and scored on the 2 1/2 inch line. I took a piece of Pumpkin Pie scrap 5 1/4 inches long and punched with the slit punch to make the scallops. Then I punched out some small stars in Brilliant Blue and Pumpkin Pie to add across the front. I cut a piece of Brilliant Blue 2 3/4 square and adhesived a 2 1/2 inch Pumpkin Pie square to it. Then I stamped "You're a blast" and the rocket from the Pun Set and colored them in with aqua painters. So easy!!!!

Simple Flower Box

Happy Fourth of July! I went out early this morning and hoed around some trees. Great exercise! Then we unloaded some hay bales. I can't believe how I have lost so much strength! Those buggers are heavy! This is a real simple and quick box. You could use it to put a bunch of cards in or just use it for a gift box. You can use any color of 10 x 12 card stock and score it on the 2" and 8" on the ten inch side. Then score it on the 5" and 7" on the twelve inch side. Cut two 2" lines on each side of cs that are on the 5 & 7 " lines. Fold up the lines and be sure to put the tab in between the longer sides. I adhesive with the stickystrip as it holds much better. I embellished the box by adding a piece of Regal Rose cs onto the Tempting Turquoise box on both sides. Then I added a piece of DSP Flowers For You onto the Regal Rose cs. You can put 4 Jumbo Brads in the box with your Cropodile but be careful so you don't catch it on the other side and make an extra hole (through experience). I used 5/8" Rose Grosgrain Ribbon and started at the bottom , came up and made a handle, added the brad, and then back down under the bottom and up on the other side, etc. I used the cropodile to put a hole in the ribbon also. A fun and quick box!!! Enjoy!

Wanted Scrapbook Page

This is a 12 x 12 scrapbook page that we did in our Stamp Club. I saw one something like this on the web and then revised it. I used River Rock 12 x 12 CS (it will only be available until August 10th) and then used a piece of 8 x 10 Chocolate Chip and a piece of CS 7 3/4 x 9 3/4 for the top piece. I also crumpled up the top page. You can also spray it with water first and then crumple it. ( A technique from Theresa) I stamped Wanted with Chocolate Brown and punched out 2 stars from Chocolate Chip card stock. I used the cropodile to add 4 large brads in the corners. On the side I added 5/8 inch Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon (13 1/2 inches) and also some narrow twill tape with the same measurement. I also added 2 Hodgepodge pieces (on sale for 20% off-through July). You can make the 3 brown rectangles any size depending on pictures. Wouldn't this be a cute page with the Old Fashion pictures taken at Keystone?

Sachet Card

We made this card at Carol's workshop! What a cool idea--We used a half sheet of vanilla card stock along with scraps of DSP and some buttons. We also used the 5 flower punch. On the inside is a pouch filled with lavendar that Carol grew in her garden. Then we punch holes in it so we could smell the lovely fragrance.
