Change of Seasons

It is time to put away all of the Thanksgiving and Fall Decorations and time to begin putting up our beautiful Winter and Christmas Decorations and trees.
These Decals are in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini catalog. Snowflake Shimmer Decor Decals are found on page 9 #113894 for $14.95. You get four sheets of snowflakes. They are very easy to apply. You just lift them off of the 12 x 12 sheet and put them on your window, picture frame, wall, etc. and then roll the brayer over them to get the bubbles out. When you are ready to take them off you just take the edge of the adhesive, lift up, and put them back on the 12 x 12 sheet. I had enough snowflakes to do three windows and had a few left over!

Thanksgiving Story

This is a great story with a Happy Ending! Monday night we were invited to a birthday party for Theresa. In the late 60's Theresa was National High School Rodeo Queen and she won a saddle for her hard work. She decided to sell this saddle so she could go to college. After all of these years her husband has been hunting for the saddle and finally found it in Iowa. He bought the saddle back for Theresa and presented it to her at her birthday party. She was in total shock and did not have any idea that Monte was searching for this saddle. She had kept the silver plate that was attached to the saddle and that was all she had for memory after all of these years! What a thoughtful and thankful husband!

Metal Containers

This is one of the square containers that I used to put a gift in. I added the felt snowflakes on the top with the Glue Dots. These snowflakes are so awesome when they are layered.
On the top picture I also added some Baja Breeze striped ribbon to put around the container. I used a different container for each niece so they could keep track on their own. These felt snowflakes also come in Riding Hood Red and White. There is a small size and a big size. You can also cut snowflakes out with your Big Shot.

Christmas Picture Ornament

This is one of the projects from the Country Living Kit. It is made from chipboard and then I covered it with DSP, added some glitter and some white Taffeta ribbon. I thought it would look cute with my neices pictures in it. I added some Sticky Strip on the back and then they can put the picture under the frame and remove the Sticky Strip. This could be hung on a tree for an ornament or you could put several together for a banner.

CD Case Gift Card

I took this Gift Card Envelope to another step. I decided to put it in a CD case as it would be larger and maybe wouldn't get lost. I covered both sides of the tin with Riding Hood Red card stock and then used dimensionals to put my envelope down on the left. On the right side of the CD tin I made a Scalloped Envelope with the Big Shot, added a little message and put some Riding Hood Red Striped Ribbon around the envelope.

On the outside of the CD Tin I added some DSP, half of a large scalloped circle, and 2 felt snowflakes with a red rhinestone brad for a little bling!!! I also added the Pink wide ribbon around the case. This was a fun gift box to make and oh so simple!

Gift Card Holder

This is a Gift Card Holder that I made using the Open End Envelopes on P. 167 of the SU catalog. You can take the large Scalloped Circle and cut it in half and adhesive to the top of the envelope. Cut off the excess. Adhesive to the top of the envelope. Fold the envelope as shown.

I added some Bella Rose DSP on the inside (this would be optional).
I added a smaller Scallop on the front of the DSP and hand cut out a Rose from the DSP. The ribbon is from the Holiday Mini Catalog and the Rub Ons are from Chit Chat (they are on sale through November 30th. I altered this pattern from Patti's website.

Baby Bucket

This is a quick way to wrap a gift for a Baby Shower. I just used a clear paint bucket and added some raffia and my gift. What cute clothes they have for little kids. I just used the Scrappin' Baby Kit to decorate the bucket and also made a card to match. Easy--fun--and quick!

Book Markers

This is one of the Book Markers that I made with the chip board frame. I used the Craft Chocolate Chip Stamp Pad to paint the frame. You can either let it dry or use a heat gun to dry it. I used Certainly Celery and some DSP under the picture. I used 20 inches of the brown felt ribbon (in the Holiday Mini) and then attached a clip on the end.

More Country Living

Here are a couple of more ideas. The stamp on the round circle says To: From: The middle of the snowflake is another image that comes in the stamp set. There must be at least 50 different tags, etc plus the Tombo Glue, Glitter, Ribbon, and cording. It is about $90 worth of materials for $49.95. Great deal!

Country Living

No, I didn't disappear off the face of the earth but not quite sure what I have been doing! I started this Kit and didn't think it would take too long to finish but there is a lot in this kit. You can use these for tags, tree decorations, cards, packages, scrapbooks, etc. Wow! There is a lot of pieces to this Kit from Country Living. I added a button to this chipboard.
This tag I just had to add a little bling and some white Satin Ribbon. I also added the silver cording.

This snowflake has glitter and then I stamped from the stamp set with Old Olive. This stamp set is awesome!

A Card from Donna

Good morning on this beautiful Sunday! I just had to share this gorgeous card that I received from Donna. I just love this stamp set-It can be used for so many different occasions. Donna stamped the flower on Whisper White card stock and then mounted it on black card stock. She used her Cuttlebug to make the 3 different backgrounds-just love the dotted swiss background. You can make these backgrounds a full size and then cut sizes according to the space you need. You could also use the dies in your Big Shot! Such a beautiful card!
I have been having fun with my Country Living Kit that I received. Wow! It has so many neat projects to do and would be wonderful to sit down with kids or grandkids and make some special Christmas gifts or decorations. You could also use this for 4-H projects, etc. I will be posting some of the ideas tomorrow. Enjoy your day!

Knee Replacement

I got home from Denver last Friday afternoon from my knee replacement surgery. We missed the storm but did get in on the clean up and the searching for cattle and horses. All of the livestock have been accounted for and they did get part of the cattle home. It was a long day on Sunday but everyone is safe and ok and that is important. I had my first therapy session yesterday and it went well. I can see where it will be a slow process and a lot of work. I was outside on the steps today and it was so nice and sunny. I just thank God for the wonderful family and friends I have! Everyone is so wonderful and taking great care of me which makes me just want to work harder at this and get back to better health. I can now get down the steps to the computer and stamp room and then crawl back up the steps. The walker has been a life saver--I can do little jobs as washing clothes, folding clothes, emptying the dishwasher, and baking. I do miss getting outside and doing chores but it will all come! Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!!!

November Storm

Winter Storm Arrives Again!
This is the front of our house last week. While I was in Denver having a knee replacement our girls were taking care of our place. We did not have any idea this storm was moving in. There was no electricity and the interstate was closed for a few days!

This is the tunnel they made each morning so the dogs could get out of the garage. They ended up staying at our house as the roads to their house were closed.

This is Lana on top of a snow bank in our corrals. You can see how high the snowbanks are according to the trees in the background. Bud finally got through the banks this afternoon. We did find all of our cattle and horses finally today. It was wicked as the cows didn't want to cross ditches in this mess but they did get them home. All I could do was to make hot cocoa for them when they arrived home. My knee is doing well and I start therapy tomorrow. Ugh! I have been very pleased so far. I just made it down the steps tonight so hopefully I can begin stamping again!

Best Wishes & More

This is a Stationary Folder that we made at Regionals from the Best Wishes & More Stamp Set. The base is Vanilla card stock with Blue mounted on the top. The Bird is stamped with Chocolate Chip and then mounted on Pink Pirouette card stock which is mounted on a 2" metal tag. We also used a pink felt flower with a brad. Chocolate Grosgrain ribbon goes around the cover.
This picture shows what the inside of the cover looks like and the 3 note cards that are inside along with the 3 small envelopes. I also lined the 3 envelopes by cutting a rectangular piece of DSP and adhesive it inside the envelope.

New Ideas on my Stampin' Up! Website

I have finally posted some new ideas on my Stampin' Up! website! Check them out!

Inspired by Nature Stationary Set

This is a neat Stationary idea using the Inspired by Nature Set. We made this in our Clubs and I was inspired by Dawn at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts. We used Summer Sun markers or daubers with the ink pad and then touched the ends of the image with Real Rust. The leaves and stems are Artichoke and the top of the flower is Chocolate Chip. Be sure you huff on your stamp before you stamp on Whisper White Note Cards. These are the Note Cards that come with the envelopes for 20 for $5.95.

To make the folder of the stationary you cut off one flap and then adhesive the back of the other flap and stick that flap inside the envelope of the one you cut the flap off. You can put about 4 note cards on one side and 4 envelopes on the other side.

This if the front of the envelope. I added the image again on white card stock and mounted it on chocolate chip card stock. I tied the Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon around the envelope and tied it and then mounted the Chocolate Chip card stock on top of the envelope. You can then add your saying. If you use daubers it is much softer and markers are brighter. A personal choice!!! What a beautiful day out! We just got word that my twin nephews just won their 1st playoff football game! Way to go Zach and Luke--one more win before the State Finals!!!
