Central States Fair

Here are some more cards from our Fair Display that myself and my downline made for samples to show at the Fair.

Tomorrow will be the last day you can order from the Summer Mini Catalog. It will also be the last day that you can get the DSP on sale--buy 3 and get the 4th one FREE!

This is a card that Shirrise made with the new Fall leaves set in the Holiday Mini! It is a beautiful set along with the new Spice Cake DSP and Early Expresso ribbon which you can begin ordering on Thursday, September 1st! I had our day club yesterday and today is the evening club so need to get busy loading supplies. Have a great day!

Fair Display of Projects

This year some of my downline put together a display of projects from the Summer Mini and the Holiday Mini Catalogs for the fair. We stapled the page to the back of the shelf and then made a project for each page in the minis. It turned out pretty cool!

The fair visitors loved to see the many projects you could make!

We also gave demonstrations and had make and takes for anyone that wanted to make projects. It was very hot-some days it was over 100 degrees but everyone seemed to enjoy the demos and make and takes.

Evenings at our Place

This is where we spend most of our evenings-in the arena roping calves or we run the Hot Heels. I love to drive the Ranger with the Hot Heels on the back and Kami ropes the heels of the steer. So fun!! In this picture Lana is roping on her good horse BI Shortround!!

Even the dog, Cutter, has to work on our place. He brings the calves in every night for the girls to rope!! He loves his job!!

I hope you have a great day today-mine is going to be very hectic as I am serving dinner at a funeral and then we will begin working and decorating at the fair--long day!

Sherry, my sister and downline, made this neat card with flowers made out of tin. She will be demonstrating Tin Projects at the Fair on Tuesday, August 23rd at 4:00 in the Creative Arts Building. She will also demonstrate the Candy Wraps on Tuesday at 3:00. Both of these are fun little projects to work with. Sherry gave me this card for my birthday and it also has the new fun brads in the center of the flower. She ran the flowers through the embossing folders. Be sure and check out our demonstrations during the Fair in the Creative Arts Building. Sarah will be kicking off our demos this Saturday, August 20th with a fun make and take. The 13 demos are listed on my Stampin' Up! website and in the Event Guide that comes with the newspaper and will also be listed each day in the Rapid City Journal. Come and enjoy the demos as some of them are also Make and Takes. You can also bring your camera and take pictures of many of the entries that will be exhibited beginning on Saturday, August 20th at 12:00 noon until 8 pm each day through August 27th.We will also be making an exhibit in the Creative Arts building of many of the projects and stamp sets that are in the Summer Mini and new Holiday Mini so come and enjoy!!

Marker Holder

This is a Marker Holder that was demonstrated at Convention for us. It takes 2 pieces of Stampin' Up! Fabric (16 inches by 11 1/2 inches. Cut out the fabric and then iron on some Fabric Adhesive on one piece and then iron the 2nd piece of fabric on to that layer. With the pinking shears go around the whole piece of fabric. Fold the bottom up 4 1/2 inches and iron down. Mark lines 1 inch with a Blue Marker from the Fabric Shop. Sew on the lines up to the top of the folded material. Attach 33 inches of ribbon. Sew ribbon on back of material, add markers, and then fold top of material down over the markers and wrap ribbon around the markers. So easy to take with you to a class!!

School Picture 1958

I needed a project for the Fair with For Teacher and School Colors so thought of finding a picture of someone going back to school. I was going through my pictures and came up with this picture of the 5 oldest siblings in August of 1958! I had a difficult time getting the picture placed the way I wanted but it worked out OK! I used Brilliant Blue, Real Red, and So Saffron, and Green colors! I am sure my brothers and sisters will love this one!!!

Another Club Card

This is another card we got from Convention in packets to use for our clubs or workshops. We used a Whisper White Notecard and Envelope. You cut 1 inch off the top of your envelope after sealing it and then using the 2 inch circle punch you punch part of a circle at the top of the envelope and there your envelope is done. We stamped the cupcake from Easy Events and colored it with aqua pens and applied glitter. I added a sparkly onto a punched out flower with the itty bitty punches and then added the new Melon Mambo polka dotted ribbon. Fun and easy!!! Hope you have a great day!

Club Card

Oops, this looks a little crooked on the card! Will have to fix that! This is a card that came with all of the supplies that we got from the Make N Take at Convention. Was so nice to have our club cards already for August! We used Pool Party for the main card, Wild Wasabi Striped Ribbon and a square with the corners notched and then just put Baker's Twine around it! How Fun! I stamped the tree from Easy Events (#123225-clear) or (#116958-wood) with Staz On Black and then punched it out with the 2 inch circle punch. Very cute and quick to make!
Take care and have a fun day!

August Scrapbook Page

This is the scrapbook page we made this month with lots of different flowers made from the Big Shot Dies and punches. We also added a lot of different colors and kinds of buttons, brads and pearls. The girls had a lot of fun being creative and making a page for "mom"! I used Whisper White Card Stock 11 1/2 square and a piece of 12 x 12 Black Card Stock and many different colors for the flowers. We also used the stamp set "Raining Flowers".
I think the weather is breaking just a little as we had a nice cool morning today and then it got hot in the afternoon. Have a great evening!
