Flower Box

I made this little 4th of July decoration for a little party we are having this weekend. I used the gingham paper from the Bar-B-Q set from Country Living that Stampin' Up! had last summer. You can make several at one time.

Then I cut out Real Red boxes with the Big Shot and then adhesived the gingham paper onto the red card stock just leaving a little ridge at the top of the box.

I folded and adhesived the box together with sticky tape and then added some tissue paper. I also cut over several flowers with the Big Shot and put them together and added a button in the middle with glue dots. The dowel from the kit was put between the 2 sets of flowers with the large glue dots and then I put a large glue dot on the bottomof the dowel to make it stick to the bottom of the box. This will make a cute table decoration. I am also adding a letter on the front of the box. I made 2 red ones and 2 blue ones.

Purse and cards

I have been gone for awhile just trying to catch up on things around our place which I dont think will ever happen. We just keep getting more rain and the weeds keep growing. I have also been playing "gopher" in the hayfield so my stamping has gone to the wayside. We just got a new computer and laptop so we hope we got everything running again. Hopefully, things will slow down a little. We made this purse and 4 cards in our purse class last week. What a fun project--all of our wheels are spinning with more ideas! I got this pattern from Becky at Inkin' Idaho and Lori H. gave me the Hawaiian idea for the purse and cards and the sunglass pattern. What a cute summer project!!!! The purses take awhile to make but they are well worth it.
Be sure you have everything that you want from the present catalog as there is only 4 days left to order and then we will be on to the new catalog-you will love it! Have a great day and I will be back tomorrow with some 4th of July decorations.

My First Calendar

Here are some pages I made for my first calendar. I experimented with all types of ideas. On the anniversary page I used one of Stampin' Up! templates and also for the May calendar with the grocery shoppping. On the 2nd page I used "Custom" for the background paper and you could also put pictures on top of this photo. I also made the bottom part of the calendar to match the top part.

This is the cover of my calendar! It was so much fun to make! Now I am in the process of making 2 books with the MDS. This is an incredible program!

Hawaiian Card

This card was made my Sherry and inspired by Heather. We made this card at our June clubs. We used the Big Shot to make all of the flowers and then ran the Tempting Turquoise through the Embossing Folder. Nature Set

I just love this stamp set. Sherry made these 2 sympathy cards while she was here. There are so many different techniques that you can use with this set. She just used the Stampin' Write markers directly on the stamp rubber and then "huffed" on them when she was all done coloring them. I hope you have a great weekend! Enjoy!

Depleted Items

These items have been depleted from the Stampin' Up! Inventory along with the previous items:

Tropical Party

This was the first card that my sister had made at my house! She had a lot of fun with all of the dies, Big Shot and accessories. The Square Lattice Texturized Plate is so much fun--lots of possibilities. It got near 90 today so I spent most of the day inside getting ready for my June clubs and classes. I had so much fun with the Smooch Sprays! I hope you are having a great weekend!

Kissing Technique

My sister, Sherry, made this card while she stayed at our house this past weekend! She was inspired by Heather and made a little change. She used the Kissing Technique by stamping on Pretty In Pink ink and Awash set and then stamping on another stamp. She used the Sweet Pea DSP and Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink card stock. I am off to the Assisted Living for a class and then back to weed wacking (an endless job) Yesterday I did get all of my painting done outside and then tried mowing with my new lawn mower. Kind of scary at first but finally got the hang of it! I only got stuck in the mud once! Have a great day!

Flooding Rains

Yesterday we had a lot of rain again (1 3/4 inches) on top of all the rain we had last week. After the rain we took a tour around the countryside. This picture was by our log and auto gate with the ducks swimming. Water was running over the roads at many places.
This is part of our big dam that is filling up! Wow! It was really all over right after the rain.

This picture was by our log and auto gate. The water was running over the road here. My sister has been staying with us and we have been doing lots of stamping at night. Sunday we did a lot of outdoor work on our yard but I can see we wont be doing anymore for a few days. Her flight was cancelled yesterday so will see if she can get out today! I have really enjoyed the company! Have a great day!

Our last little one was finally born Tuesday night. This year we got 3 sorrels so hope there is a lot of difference in their white markings. Now we get to sleep again through the night and the mare didn't even need our help!
My sister is coming this weekend so it looks like a full weekend of stamping! Fun time!

calendar 2010

This is another page for my 2010 calendar. I have been having so much fun putting this calendar together. I am using the MDS and then some of the Designer Programs and also my own ideas so it has been an experience. You can add some many accessories and different types of DSP to the pages. Stampin' Up! just came out with 3 new downloads of DSP that you can buy to put on your DSP. Fun! We are moving cattle today to summer pasture so hopefully can get some more good shots with my camera. Have a lovely day!

Saturday, May 15, 2010

I have been working on a family calendar and this is one of the pages that I made last night. I just used the Media Center part on the MDS and then worked with the Designer Section. This was a very quick page as I just changed the background and the strips of card stock and added a photo. What fun this MDS is.!!! Will post more of the calendar as I get it completed. Have a wonderful day!

Circle Circus

I made this card with different size strips of Sweet Pea DSP. I have 5 strips across the Melon Mambo card stock which is 4 x 5. I also stamped on card stock with Melon Mambo ink and punched them out with a 1 1/4 inch punch. Two scallops were punched with the Melon Mambo card stock. I used the Modern Label Punch for "Just for You". The Circle Circus stamp set is one of the special stamp sets this month that if you purchased it you get a FREE SET OF BRADS.
I am up late tonight as waiting for a mare to foal. We have been getting up for 10 days now so I hope tonight is the night. It is so quiet at this time of the night so maybe I will get a few projects accomplished. Have a good day!

Mother's Day Weekend

We had a great weekend and Mother's Day spending most of the time outdoors. It is a good thing as it started raining in the middle of the night and still raining--almost a 1/2 inch of rain. The girls had to work on Mother's Day so when Lana got off we planted a bunch of spruce trees in their yard. I was the photographer but actually did help dig some markers and plant trees. Also, the water girl!!!!

On Saturday, I went with Bud to do some fencing so we could get our cattle out to summer pasture. I don't think that is going to happen now as too muddy to get out there for awhile.
Cutter went with us and knew exactly where his seat was. He really stayed with me everywhere I went which was good. We did get the fence fixed. I can drive staples and tie wires but still do not know how to fix broken wire. I guess some things you dont want to learn at this age.

Directions for Book Marker

I have had requests for directions for this book marker so here goes. Start with a piece of 3 x 6 inch DSP.
Fold the top half of the DSP diagonally.

Fold the 3 x 6 in half and adhesive around the three edges.
Add your punches or embellishments. A very special thank you to Lillian for sharing her page marker with all of us.

Lillian's Bookmarks

Aren't these just the cutest? Lillian, one of our club members, gave each member one of these at club on Tuesday. Love that Bird Punch. She said she used a 6 x6 piece of DSP and folded it to use as a page marker. What a great idea!!! I had a great class yesterday with Lisa! It is still cold and windy here in fact it looked like a snow blizzard outside when I woke up this morning! I hope you have a blessed day!

Masculine or Sympathy Card

This could be a masculine card or a ver simple sympathy card. I used the stamp set "Autumn Days" and the sentiment if from "Thoughts & Prayers". I used Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip card stock and ink and three Jumbo Brads.
We are getting rain and SNOW here. Yes, that 4 letter word that we dont like to think about in May. I am giving a lesson this morning and then off to cooking for the Lion's Club as Ioffered to make them dinner this month!!!! I did get some closets cleaned yesterday and maybe can sneak in another one today! It is unreal how much STUFF a person collects over the years. Have a great day and I hope it is sunny in your area!
