More Pictures of My Mom

Here are a few more pictures from my mom's scrapbook that I just completed. Yes, I am finally done and it did take more than one hour to do this. How fun it was though!

These are pictures of my mom growing up! Be sure you do not cut off some of the background that may be history as houses, cars, etc.

What a beautiful lady she was!

Tie The Knot Scrapbook Kit

These pages are using the Tie The Knot Scrapbook Kit. These are all pictures of my mom. I decided to make this 6 x 6 Brag Book of my Mother's Life. Wow! What a shock I got! I went to get some pictures from my albums and had about 3 pictures of my mother growing up other than the wedding pictures. Remember, how fast I said these albums were! Well, not this one! It has taken me 6 hours and I am on page 8. It is amazing what happens to time when you start working with pictures. I emailed my family and of course my sister, Sherry, is Johnny on the Spot. She had pictures to me in a split second. Then of course they all had to be uploaded, printed and cut. Now that that is done maybe it will go faster!
This is a wedding picture of my mom and dad. My dad was in the Service and came home and they got married.

These are some wedding pictures. They had a very small unannounced wedding. I think Grandpa and Grandma, the priest, my mom's sister and my dad's brother were there.

This is a picture of my mom's family. Yes, there were 12 living kids! You counted right! My poor grandma! My mom was the youngest girl! I will try and finish the book tomorrow and show you the finished project!

Summer Days Scrapbook Kit

This Scrapbook Page is from the Summer Days Scrapbook Kit. I added a flower from the Die Cut Bloom in the Occasions Mini catalog. Also, there is a Build a Brad in the middle of the flower.

Just add your photos to the pages!

Some more scrapbook pages! These are so fun! It takes less than one hour to cut the paper and make one of these 6 x 6 Brag Books! I even put all the pages in the book in that time! These would make great birthday gifts or even make one for yourself to be ready for Summer '08! These pages will be some of those offered in the Class I will be teaching in May on Scrapbook Kits! Be watching for the update on the Class! I will post one more group of pages which will be from Tie The Knot Scrapbook Kit. Hopefully, I will have some pictures of my mom in the book when it is completed.

Baby Boy's Scrapbook Pages

Here are three pages from Special Delivery Boy on page 173 of the Stampin' Up Idea Book. There are 20 pages in a Brag Book and I just completed one book in about an hour. They are so fun and fast. They have so many little accents you can add to the page. And WOW! with our punches and extra card stock there are so many ideas!!!
The Boy's Kit comes in Wasabi, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand and Groovy Guava. There are also three sheets of 12 x 12 Designer Series Papers that you can use for borders. For some reason the Boy's Brag Book was more fun to do than the Girls'!

We will be making these pages in a Scrapbook Class in May for National Scrapbook Month if you are interested in the class.

Bride Card

This card is made from the stamp set Big on Spring, p. 12 of Occasions Mini Stampin! Up! I used the chunky glitter for the letters but I think it would be better to use the fine glitter. I also doodled around the letters so it kind of looks like there is glitter all over in the picture.
Materials:
Black Card Stock: 4 1/4 x 11 1/2
Silver Card Stock 3 3/4 x 4 3/4
Black Card Stock 4 x 2 1/4
White Card Stock 3 3/8 x 1 1/2
Tombow & Silver Chunky Glitter
Black & Gray Markers
Flowers-used the sponge daubers and gray ink pad to color the large flower and black to color the small flower and then I added a rhinestone brad in the middle. I also doodled around the outside edge.

Rub Ons

It has been awhile since I published a card! How time flies when you are busy with projects. Our fund raiser for Jaycie was a great success! A lot of barrel racers showed up and we all had fun at the auction! A Special Thank You for everyone that donated items to make this auction a success!!! Yesterday was Stamp Club and of course we always have a fantastic time with our little group! We have also decided to start a Scrapbook Club during the week and daytime. If you would like to join please let me know what day of the week would work for you. Now to share a new project with you. I saw a card like this on Dawn's site! I changed the stamp set and colors so it looks like a completely different card. I cut a piece of Groovy Guava cardstock in half (4 1/4 x 11 1/2) and scored it in the middle. Some black doodle marks were added on the edge of the card. I added the Rub Ons from Sale-a-bration on a piece of white card stock (3 x 5) and then sponged around the rub ons with Groovy Guava. I think I may have got it a little too much but will keep experimenting with it. Then I added Black ribbon (retired SU- small organdy) around the card and made 2 bows to add on top of the long ribbon. (wish they made Black Taffeta Ribbon) Then I layered Black, Groovy Guava, and white card stock and stamped the flower from Year after Year (p. 60 of Stampin Up Idea Book)with Black ink and doodled around the white edges with a Black Marker. Using the aqua markers I painted in the flowers with Groovy Guava and Wild Wasabi ink. Last I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Stampin Dimensions were used under the small black card stock. You could use so many different stamp sets with this card! Have fun with it!

Hollie's Mystery Card

One night at our Club meeting Peggy S. came up with the idea of a "Mystery Envelope". I filled 2 envelopes with some card stock and accessories and then 2 gals chose the envelopes and were to go home and make a card from the material inside the envelope. This is the card that Hollie came up with! I thought it was pretty clever! She crimped the Designer Paper and polka-dotted the plain Red Rose side. It really changed the looks of the paper. She mounted the Designer Paper on More Mustard card stock and stamped her image on white card stock and attached some brads! She said she started at 4:30 before the 6:00 class! She wasn't even late for class! Great job, Hollie, and how fun for the rest of us!

Sassy Suzie

Yesterday as I was up to the VA waiting for my dad between appointments I was putting my stamp sets together. Actually, with this set Sassy Suzie, it is already die cut so you can just put the images on very quickly. Of course, every veteran was staring and asking questions of what I was doing. Too bad it wasn't a room full of ladies!! This morning I was unloading my car before I started cleaning a shed and of course there was those stamp sets staring me in the face! Oh, my word, how much fun can you have in one hour! (my shed is not cleaned but I had fun stamping) The fun of retirement!!!
I made this card with a friend in mind. It is made from black, white and going gray card stock. I just had to add a little Black Stickles to her shoes, cup and jewelry and of course make her hair look like it has been dyed black.

This red card had some Designer Series Paper from the new Summer Picnic added along the side of the Real Red card stock. "You're so Sweet" is from the rub ons in A Perfect Day in the Occasions Mini catalog. I also added black card stock around the image and greeting and of course some more red Stickles.

The Pretty in Pink card image has been stamped with Black ink and then I used Watercolor Pencils and the aqua painter to blend the colors with. I double framed the image with Pretty In Pink and Real Red. I added a couple of Red Rhinestone Brads on the greeting. On the left side I put some red gingham ribbon through the new silver slides from the Silver Hodgepodge Kit. I also added Stickles to the slider and let it dry before putting the ribbon through. Stickles was also added on the shoes, jewelry, cup and of course the red table had to glisten a little. So much fun with the Sassy Suzie set found in the new Occasions Mini!! She's a stitch!!!

Birthday Card

This card has been sitting on my desk for about a week and I couldn't decide what to do with it. I had the Mustard Card stock and the East Coast Prep Designer Paper on it along with the 5/8 grosgrain ribbon and then I couldn't decide what to do with it. Today I added the Birthday set from Sale-a-bration in Real Red and stamped the greeting with White Craft ink.
If you stamp with an image and it does not completely ink like the cake below just take your sanding block (p. 184) and sand back and forth on the image and then stamp the image in ink. It will work like the top card shows.
It is easier to stamp your cake on a piece of white card stock and then cut the card stock out than cut and then stamp.

Carousel Notes

What a blast I have been having with these Carousel Notes (p. 7 in Occasions Mini 11.95 for 12 notes plus chocolate chip colored envelopes.) You can either stamp on them, use the Rub Ons , use them in your scrapbook pages with photos, or just send a photo in the mail. These are so much fun to work with! The top note I used the Soft Sky carousel with chocolate chip ink, 5/8 ribbon, and Enjoy Every Moment stamp set (p. 51) in the Idea Book. After I was done stamping I took and sponged around the edges of the Carousel. I put two of the carousels together using the Jumbo Eyelets (p. 189).

On the Wild Wasabi Carousel I used white Rub Ons from the Eastern Elegance set (p 182). I also used the uni-ball Signo Gel Pen (p. 183) to add the little dots on each edge. Again, I used white craft ink and sponged around the note. It just softens it a little.

This is a picture of the Groovy Guava note. It was very hard to get a good picture of this color as it kept making double lines of all of the Rub Ons. I don't know what was up with that! I used the Rub Ons from Sale-a-bration on this note card. I also used the white pen and sponged around the edges. I am sure these will cost an extra 17 cents to mail them as they are larger than a regular sized envelope. I hope you have as much fun with these as I have!!

Western Coasters

We had a busy day today as we had the Red Hat ladies from New Underwood get together with the Elm Springs ladies and have a salad luncheon. Afterwards we played a card game "Peanuts". Then I rushed to the Event Center to listen to Dr. Shan speak about the Equine Reproductive System. It was very informative and interesting. Yesterday a friend called and wanted me to make her some western coasters. I stamped 4 of these with Craft Chocolate Chip ink on the Tumbled Marble Tiles from Lowes. They come in a box 0f 9. I let them dry and then sprayed them with a Matte spray twice. (letting them dry in between)
You can also bake them in an oven for 30 minutes at 250 degrees before you spray them. I have tried both techniques.

Here are all four tiles. You can also use Staz On ink but if you make a mistake it is hard to get the ink off. The best way to get it off is to use Staz On cleaner. If you make a mistake with Craft Ink you can just wipe it off with a wet paper towel.

On the back of the tile I added a circle adhesive on each corner. I had these adhesives but you can pick them up in the frame department of a craft store.

After they dried I put them together and tied raffia around them. These make a nice quick gift.

Easter Scrapbook Page

This is a scrapbook page we did at our last Scrapbook Club. The bottom picture shows the exact layout but we just used different colors. Jodie was going to stamp bugs across it for her little boys page. On this page I used a 4 x 12 inch piece of Wild Wasabi that I adhesived on a 12 x 12 More Mustard piece of card stock. I stamped polka dots on the background and then added a 1/2 sheet or Real Red 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock. On the bottom of the paper I have 1/3 sheet of Designer Series Paper from East Coast Prep (p. 168) We punched flowers from the 5-Petal Flower Punch (p. 181) and then I added little flowers from the Merci (Sale-a-bration set) of various colors that were in the DS papers. Some of the ladies just punched out 1/2 inch circles to put in the middle of the flowers. It went much faster. I also added a scallop punch from Tempting Turquoise and then added 1 3/8 inch circle of Real Red, 1 1/4 inch circle of More Mustard and a 1 inch circle of White and stamped Easter with Real Red ink.

This page used 12 x 12 Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie strip, a 1/2 sheet of Night of Navy and 1/3 sheet of DPS from Jersey Shore (p. 168). Just imagine the different colors you could come up with by experimenting with the different colors of Designer Papers.

Summer Designer Paper

I have made some cards using the new Summer Designer Paper from the new Occasion Mini catalog. The first card also uses some rub ons and some Wasabi Striped ribbon. The second card I used Happy Birthday from It's Your Birthday set (p. 141) and also added some wide Red Grosgrain Ribbon (p. 191). I also added my favorite punch (Scallop Punch) on the top and used my markers to add the cherries (Tart & Tangy set p. 14 in Occassions Mini). The last card uses Thanks from "Thanks for Everything" on p. 142 stamped in Real Red. I added some red card stock under the Designer Paper to make the paper stand out a little from the Bashful Blue card stock. Again, I added the scallop punch with the 1 3/8 inch circle punch and then sponged the edges of the circle. We had a great time at club last night and I will post the scrapbook page we did tomorrow. Have a great stamping day!

Western Sky Striped

Here are a couple of more cards using the Western Sky Background Paper. The top card also used the stitched Blue Bayou ribbon and some added Silver Hodgepodge Brads.

With this "Thinking of You' Card I used the Key Tag Punch and layered it on Blue Bayou card stock and then sponged around it with Blue Bayou ink. I also used the large Star Punch and also sponged it. I added 2 medium brads and 3 smaller brads from the Silver Hodgepodge Kit. Instead of adding my usual ribbon I just added a one inch piece of Blue Bayou card stock across the card. These are some more samples of tent cards and they will fit it a medium sized envelope
